My 8th New Yorker cover!

WooHoo! My 8th cover for The New Yorker! Every single time it feels like a miracle and I get giddy with excitement. This is painted from a photo that I took of my daughter's friend Lisa and her son Milo walking down our road, mid summer, at the end of the day when the light is magical. I am so happy that this very loose and interpretive painting was chosen. I submit many, many ideas, and I think some are the best thing I’ve ever done - so when they don’t get chosen I might get a bit discouraged and take a break, but then i get back up- dust myself off and keep submitting!

Here's the link to my interview on The New Yorker.  TNYorker does this for every cover! i always loved reading these interviews about the artists process.

Prints of this painting ( without TNYorker logo) are available in my shop.
