On March 8th I flew to PV for 2 1/2 weeks to have a ton of dental work done, for less than half the cost it would have been had I had it done at home. I knew I needed 9 crowns. WHAT an adventure this was. I am writing in depth about my experience and plan to submit this story to magazines - but here is an abbreviated version!
This funky sign might have scared me. But then you walk into the beautiful white gleaming office - beautiful art on the walls ( all patients) and Elsa - the gate keeper/receptionist. She is wonderful.
Dr. Octavio lives on the same property as the clinics and drives to work in this golf cart.
Selfie before we started
first appt. he literally straightened my bottom teeth with grinding and resin. NO pain, No big deal, huge results in 2 hrs. total cost? under $200.
More Day 1
You get picked up by a handsome kid in a white jeep your first day - -good thing as cab drivers had a hard time finding it. (By my last day and 8th visit I could direct the cab :) I assumed all the young people assisting Dr.. Octavio were 'assistants' Nope. they were all dentists - trained by him. He said "they have to be pretty AND smart"
She had great shoes on my first day. The rest of my visits she wore sneakers :)
the maker of the crowns
They make all the crowns in house. Zirconium / porcelein crowns. This kid who looks to be 12, ok, 19, is the chief crown maker many of the dentists there know how to make them.
Each crown cost $600. At home at least $1000 each more like $1200.
Me and the man
Me and Dr Octavio. My last day and 8th visit. I look as tired as i felt.
